EVIQO’s hardware is truly impressive...it speaks to the company’s attention to detail.

It's a very solid unit at a great price, it competes with the other chargers on my list here that cost hundreds more.
The EVIQO Home Charger is our top pick for its combination of high performance, durability, and affordability.
Collectively, we have reviewed numerous EV charging stations over the years, and I’ve used a variety of stations in the US and Europe. In all honesty, I love the EVIPOWER GEN 2 and couldn’t really ask for more.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need a Level 2 charger? Can't I just use the one that came with my car?
The portable charger included with most EVs is Level 1 — it adds only 4–5 miles per hour on a standard 120V outlet. That's 2–3 days for a full charge. EVIPOWER Level 2 delivers up to 46 miles per hour (48A), charging your car fully overnight. It's the difference between constantly worrying about range and just plugging in when you get home.
Is EVIPOWER compatible with my car?
This NACS version is plug-and-play with all Tesla models and 2025+ Hyundai IONIQ 5/6. For other EVs (Ford, Chevy, BMW, Kia, Rivian, etc.), use a NACS-to-J1772 adapter. We also offer J1772 versions that work with every EV in North America out of the box. Use the "Will it fit my car?" quiz on this page to find your match.
What's the difference between plug-in and hardwired versions?
Plug-in uses a NEMA 14-50 outlet — max 40A (9.6 kW), no electrician needed. Hardwired connects directly to a 60A circuit — unlocks full 48A (11.5 kW), the fastest home charging possible. Hardwire requires a licensed electrician but gives you 20% more speed.
Can I install it myself?
Plug-in version — yes, just plug into a NEMA 14-50 outlet. True plug-and-play. Hardwired version — a licensed electrician is required. Most installations take 1–2 hours. We partner with Treehouse for professional installation nationwide.
What electrical setup do I need?
Plug-in: NEMA 14-50 outlet on a 50A dedicated circuit. Hardwired: 60A dedicated circuit with THWN-2 copper wires (L1/L2: 6 AWG, Ground: 10 AWG). If you're unsure about your panel capacity, consult an electrician — our team can help you find one.
Can I mount it outdoors?
Yes. IP66 + NEMA 4 rated — tested against rain, snow, ice, dust, UV, and temperatures from -22°F to 122°F. Thousands of customers use it outdoors year-round with zero issues.
Can I control how fast it charges?
Yes, two levels of control. Hardware dip switch sets max amperage (16A / 32A / 40A / 48A). Then fine-tune with the app slider from 6A to your max in 1A increments. Useful for matching your circuit capacity or charging slower during peak rates.
How does the EVIQO app work?
Download free on iOS/Android, pair via Wi-Fi in under 2 minutes. Set up to 3 charging schedules, track energy and costs live, adjust amperage remotely, and get smart tips. Firmware updates happen automatically over the air.
How does EVIPOWER compare to competitors?
EVIPOWER scored 98/100 on ChargerRater — the highest ever. Named Best EV Charger 2024 by ZDNET, InsideEVs, and State of Charge. Industry-longest 25' cable + 40" input cable, IP66 + NEMA 4 weatherproofing, and a fully rubberized heavy-duty connector. Most competitors offer shorter cables, lower protection ratings, or no smart app.
What safety protections does it have?
10+ built-in systems: overcurrent, current leakage, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheat, surge, relay fault, control pilot fault, and voltmeter fault detection. Certified by ETL, Energy Star, and FCC.
Am I eligible for a tax credit?
Yes. Federal 30% tax credit up to $1,000 covers equipment + installation (Section 30C). EVIPOWER is Energy Star certified, which qualifies. Many states and utilities offer additional rebates. Our support team can help you find incentives in your area.
What's your return and warranty policy?
3-year manufacturer warranty standard, extendable to 4 years at checkout. If anything goes wrong, our US-based support team ships replacements within days. Full refund policy available — see details in Shipping & Returns.
