Why do I need a Level 2 charger? Can't I just use the one that came with my car?
The portable charger included with most EVs is Level 1 — it adds only 4–5 miles per hour on a standard 120V outlet. That's 2–3 days for a full charge. EVIPOWER Level 2 delivers up to 46 miles per hour (48A), charging your car fully overnight. It's the difference between constantly worrying about range and just plugging in when you get home.
Is EVIPOWER compatible with my car?
This NACS version is plug-and-play with all Tesla models and 2025+ Hyundai IONIQ 5/6. For other EVs (Ford, Chevy, BMW, Kia, Rivian, etc.), use a NACS-to-J1772 adapter. What's the difference between plug-in and hardwired versions?
Plug-in uses a NEMA 14-50 outlet — max 40A (9.6 kW), no electrician needed. Hardwired connects directly to a 60A circuit — unlocks full 48A (11.5 kW), the fastest home charging possible. Hardwire requires a licensed electrician but gives you 20% more speed.
Can I install it myself?
Plug-in version — yes, just plug into a NEMA 14-50 outlet. True plug-and-play. Hardwired version — a licensed electrician is required. Most installations take 1–2 hours. We partner with Treehouse for professional installation nationwide.
What electrical setup do I need?
Plug-in: NEMA 14-50 outlet on a 50A dedicated circuit. Hardwired: 60A dedicated circuit with THWN-2 copper wires (L1/L2: 6 AWG, Ground: 10 AWG). If you're unsure about your panel capacity, consult an electrician — our team can help you find one.
Can I mount it outdoors?
